Golden Oak Speech Therapy is committed to closing the speech therapy service gap, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of services, and improving student outcomes in the school setting. Our team is comprised of competent, diverse, and well-informed speech therapists who comply with state and federal IEP regulations while delivering evidence-based therapy to students of all ages.

Serving individuals 3-21 years of age, from preschool to high school, and beyond.

Our goal is to collaborate with educators, parents, and students to develop and implement IEPs with fidelity. Not only do we offer school contract speech therapy services, but we also provide a variety of in-services, parent trainings, and program development for AAC, Assistive Technology (AT), Child Language Development, and more.

Our knowledgeable and dedicated SLPs have extensive experience in:

  • Case managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students

  • Developing and appropriately documenting IEPs using SEIS

  • Completing timely progress notes

  • Conducting initial and triennial evaluations and determining eligibility for school-based speech therapy services

  • Participating in IEP and 504 meetings

  • Serving on school-based Student Study Teams 

  • Collaborating with general education teachers, special education teachers, interventionists, administrators, and families

  • Coaching parents to support generalization and carryover of new skills

  • Consulting with classroom educators, staff, and interventionists

  • Writing detailed and thorough speech and language reports including measurable and attainable IEP goals

  • Delivering individual and group speech therapy services using evidence-based interventions

  • Providing classroom-based interventions in collaboration with classroom educators

  • Co-teaching

Karina has worked as a school-based speech-language pathologist for over 9 years, evaluating and treating preschool and school-age children with communication challenges. She is dedicated to professional learning as demonstrated by her accomplishments as an Assistive Technology Specialist and her Ph.D. pursuits in Child Language. Karina is passionate about providing creative supports, solutions, and service delivery models to help students access the educational environment, academic curriculum, community events, and recreational opportunities.
